When investigating franchising it is easy to overlook the fact that existing businesses are available as well as new ones. Derrick Simpson will look at acquiring a franchised business resale and compare and contrast the benefits and pitfalls against starting a new one from scratch. He will cover elements such as cost differential, accurate provision of information, negotiating with the seller and getting the right price. He will also address the risks involved in both new and resales businesses and how the role of the franchisor can address and assist with these. Another element will be the funding of the venture and will pass on some key advice to secure funding for franchise resales.
