The UK care sector is at a critical turning point. As the ageing population grows and demand for home care accelerates, the gap between those needing support and the workforce available to deliver it continues to widen. Recruitment remains one of the sector’s greatest challenges, while high turnover rates place further strain on providers attempting to deliver consistent, high quality care.In this seminar, Dan Archer explores the root causes of the workforce crisis, examining how long standing perceptions of caregiving, combined with traditional recruitment models, have created an unsustainable system. He highlights the demographic pressures shaping the future of care and why incremental fixes are no longer enough. The session presents Visiting Angels’ carer-centric model as a sustainable solution. By redefining the role of a caregiver in society, improving pay and professional recognition, and embedding structured support, progression and wellbeing into the organisation, VA addresses staff turnover at its source. Attendees will gain a strategic understanding of how repositioning and valuing caregivers is not only morally right, but commercially essential for the future stability of the care sector.
