Don Bircham has been in the retail travel business for over 40 years. His career started in a local High Street travel agency before moving to Thomas Cook, where he held shop manager and regional manager positions. Moving to Co-Op Travel he held the position of retail operations manager and was responsible for the smooth running and profitability of 50 retail travel shops. In 2000, Don started his own business in North Wales with a single shop in the small market town of Mold. That business is now a franchise partner of Hays Travel with 47 shops and a turnover of more than 130M. Don also has interests in the pub and restaurant sector and was a previous CEO at Wrexham Football Club.
